Nashville Spanish Academy Mission

Nashville Spanish Academy

Nashville is important to the health care, publishing, finance, and music industries. It is known as “Music City, USA,” or “The County Music Capital of the World,” due to the importance of music on its culture. It is the largest metropolitan area in Tennessee, thanks to the consolidated city-county government. It is also the second-most populous Tennessee city, with 553,988 residents, according to U.S. Census estimates. Within Nashville’s diverse population are 40,408 Hispanic and Latinos, or 7.3 percent of the total population. Of Nashville residents, 65,187, or 12.8 percent, speak a language other than English when at home.

The Nashville area is heavily influenced by Hispanic and Latino traditions, which is just one facet of the city’s rich culture. Cine Latino 2008 is one of the many Hispanic-influenced art options in the city. There are also many Nashville Hispanic restaurants offering a broad range of Latin American cuisine. Also, the Frist Center Kids Club presents another wonderful opportunity for area children to experience a wide range of artistic heritage.

Nashville’s diversity and Hispanic/Latino traditions are two of the many reasons children would benefit from a deeper knowledge of Spanish culture, and an ability to speak the language. What benefits do you want for your children through the ability to speak Spanish? Please share your thoughts with us using the feedback form on the right side of the page.
